On Wednesday December 7th 2022 it was finally time. After more than two years of hard work, at Damsterdiep 36 we were given the go-ahead in the presence of alderman Rik van Niejenhuis to officially support tenants and assist them with all kinds of questions.

The Support Center was set up to assist tenants with questions about all kinds of tenancy law issues. For example, questions regarding the rental contract, questions about service costs, questions about defects in the rented accommodation, but also, for example, about the correctness of a proposal for a rent increase. Every resident of the municipality with a rental question or rental problem is very welcome at the Rent Center.

At the Support Center we think it is most important that we can now finally start offering an accessible platform with a low threshold to tenants who have such questions.

In practice, this low threshold means that tenants can contact us free of charge with all their questions, but also that it’s simple for tenants to contact us with questions. Tenants can easily turn to us for help and support. For example, questions can be asked by sending an e-mail to info@steunpunthuren.nl, but tenants can also visit us Wednesdays at Damsterdiep 36 during our walk-in consultation hours, from 13:00 to 15:00.

In addition, on our website under the “FAQs” button we have made a collection of answers to the most common questions. If necessary, we can also start a procedure with the Rent Assessment Committee, for example. In short, the Support Center assists, supports and advises on all kinds of questions in the field of tenancy law.

We would like to emphasize that we can therefore offer support and assistance throughout the entire process, i.e. from the first moment of contact up to and including a possible procedure at the Rent Tribunal where necessary.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help you and are at your service!
