According to the government, tenants on the Dutch rental market too often have to deal with malicious landlords and other rental problems. That is why the Ministry of the Interior focuses on good tenancy as a solution.
Good tenancy includes equal opportunities for a home for everyone, without looking at origins. Discrimination in the housing market is not allowed.
Temporary maintenance of the living space, good contact with tenants and fair rents are of great importance. For example, a landlord may increase the rent once a year, but that is of course not necessary.
